Be Forward Wanderers defeated rookies Ntopwa football club 2-0 to open a five points gap on the summit of the TNM super league.
Wanderers was a better side from the first whistle as they created a lot of chances but hitman Babatunde Adepoju lacked composer in front of goal.
In the 18th minute, Mike Kaziputa scored from a Babatunde cross to put the 2018 FISD cup winners in front. The Lali Lubani side searched for more goals but Richard Chimbamba in goals for Mtopwa was alert to save his side.
In the second half, the rookies played good football but their front line failed to convert the created chances.
With 2 minutes to end the match , Babatunde put the ice on the cake when he scored to take his goals tally to 12.
After the match Wanderers assistant coach Oscar Kaunda said it was a hard fought victory.
“It was tough as our friends are fighting relegation but am happy the boys fought for the win”, he said.
On the other side Ntopwa technical director Isaac Jomo Osman said
“It happens in football to lose having played well. We are learning in each game and am positive we will remain in the league. We just need to include a few players during the transfer window”.
Wanderers are on top of the log table with 33 points from 14 games. Ntopwa lie second from bottom with 10 points from 14 games.
