The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) will on the 2nd of March 2019 have it’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), where among other things new office bearers for the Executive Committee are to be elected.
A press statement released by SULOM say the Super League clubs were given time to nominate people they would like to contest for positions, and that nominated names went through a comprehensive screening process.
However, the nominees are required to pay a non-refundable fee of K 100,000 excluding those vying for the position of Executive Members who will pay K 50,000.
At the AGM clubs will be asked to vote for the nominated people for the positions of Vice President, Vice General Secretary, Legal Adviser and Executive Members. Many people are vying for the positions while Tiya Somba Banda and Williams Banda will go unopposed for the position of President and General Secretary respectively.
Innocent Botomani, who is the incumbent SULOM president will not seek a third term of office while Daud Suleman, his deputy, resigned after being elected as FAM’s Executive Member.
The following is the list of the nominated candidates.
President: Tiya Somba Banda
Vice President: Major Gilbert Mitawa, Aggrey Khonje and Albert Mtungambera Hara
General Secretary: Williams Banda
Vice General Secretary: Major Thoko Chazema, Aggrey Khonje, Zacharia Nyirenda and Muhammad Seleman.
Treasure: Chifundo Makande, Malinda Chinyama and Ernest Mangeni
Legal Adviser : Muhammad Seleman, Chimwemwe Chithope and David Kanyenda
Executive Members: Charles Manyungwa, Henze Banda, Michael Chamaere, Alie Mwachande, Chimwemwe Nyirenda and Titha Mandiza.
