Chawinga who started her football career at DD sunshine in Malawi before joining a Swedish side is currently playing for Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese women premier league and says she is happy where she is now but Europe is were she wants for the future.
“As of now am happy her in China were am playing my football and have been working hard to help my team and I thank God for being with me as I have been able to win awards here which is not a mean achievement as its one of the competitive leagues as far as women’s football is concerned,” She said
“My dream is to play for one of the big clubs in Europe one day and I work hard and play for that because playing in Europe will give me high chances of winning the World Best female footballer of the year but it’s a matter of time and opportunities “,Chawinga said.
Tabitha Chawinga was the first women’s football export to play professional football in as she signed for a Swedish third division team Krokom /Dvarsatt in 2014 where she won the golden boot before joining Kvarnsvedens IK in the Swedish Elitettan league and won the golden boot in 2017.
In 2018 she joining a Chinese based side Jiangsu Suning where she won the Chinese women’s footballer of the year in 2018 and has recently won the golden boot for the Chinese FIFA women’s national Championship with 15 goals.
