Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has revised fixtures for action in week 5 of the 2019 TNM Super League after a request from Be Forward Wanderers Football Club.
SULOM says the fixtures have been revised to give room to Be Forward Wanderers Football Club who were to play Tigers Football Club on Sunday to prepare well for their quarter finals second leg match against Silver Strikers Football Club and that they have also contributed seven players to the Malawi National football team camp ahead of the CHAN match against Eswatini on Saturday at the Kamuzu Stadium.
Wanderers general secretary Mike Butao said they made the request as it would have been exhausting for players to get involved in three games in four days.
“Some of our players are with the national team and if they get the chance to play on Saturday it means they are would have played three games in a space of four days which is abnormal and unacceptable and we thank SULOM for taking into consideration our request “, Butao said.
The new fixture will see Tigers Football Club invading the Central region for two assignments with Blue Eagles Football Club fresh from their win over Be Forward Wanderers Football Club given a match as they were rested in the earlier fixture.
