The Southern Region Football Association League (SRFA) has announced that the 2019 season will kick off with a match between FOMO and Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves on 7th April at Mulanje Park Stadium .
The league which has the premier division and division one and will this season be called Thumbs Up Southern Region Football League after RAB Processors Limited came in to sponsor the league after 2018 sponsors, United Purpose announced not to continue with its sponsorship.
SRFA Chairperson Raphael Humba said everything is in place for the launch of the 2019 season.
“We are indeed launching the Thumbs Up Southern Region Football League and prior to the launch of the league, we have a game on Saturday between SRFA select team which won the Rough Diamond competition in February against Be Forward Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium and on Sunday we are going to Mulanje Park Stadium to launch the league with a game between FOMO Football Club and Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves.
“People should expect a lot as everyone who will come to watch the games at the two venues will receive a free bottle of Thumbs Up drink as we want people to enjoy the drink this season”, said Humba.
Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves were crowned champions of the 2018 Southern Region Association League in the premier division with SEBO Farming Football Club being champions in division one league which was called Chitetezo Mbaula sponsored by United Purpose.
