Silver Strikers football club general secretary Lawrence Yobe has apologized to Malawians on the unsporting behavior of their on and off controversial striker Khuda Muyaba who last week recorded a video mocking the Malawi national football team after losing to Zambia in the quarter finals of the cosafa tournament.
Yobe said what khuda Muyaba did was unprofessional and damaged the reputation of the team as well their sponsors that they have called him for a disciplinary hearing on Monday as discipline is a paramount factor at their club.
“Firstly let me apologize to all soccer loving Malawians for the video he recorded mocking the national team as that’s not the behavior we promote at our club and has portrayed a bad image on Malawi football and we are against such behavior.
“We have called him for a disciplinary hearing on Monday as he is our player and we will try as much as possible to discipline him that he follow the rules of Silver Strikers football club as he has a running contract with the club until 2021”, Yobe said.
Khuda has not been going for training at the club since he was not called into the Flames camp for the COSAFA tournament a decision he feels was facilitated by Silver Strikers coach Lovemore Fazili who is also part of the Flames technical panel.
