FIFA assistant referee Clemence Kanduku has represented Malawi at the on going COSAFA tournament in Durban, South Africa

Kanduku officiated the opening group B match between Namibia and Mozambique has commended COSAFA for appointing him to officiate at this year’s tournament.

“It’s not easy to be one of COSAFA tournament referees. This only shows the trust Football Association of Malawi (FAM) and COSAFA has in me “, he said.

Kanduku further said his officiating at the COSAFA tournament will help him gain experience which will help him improve his performance.

“In refereeing every year is a new year. I handled the semi final game last year and I wish I could go beyond that this year to gain more experience “, he said.

The Malawian referees was exempted from officiating his second group B match at the tournament as Malawi is in the same group and the games were crucial for quarter final qualifications.

Clemence Kanduku was also part of the officiating personal at last year’s COSAFA tournament which was staged in Limpopo, South Africa.
