Masters Security Football Club defeated rookies Ntopwa Football Club 1 – 0 at Dedza Stadium on Sunday afternoon to collect maximum points thanks to a Cuthbert Sineta goal.
The defeat means Ntopwa returns to the southern region empty handed after losing 2 games against Blue Eagles on Saturday before Masters Security add more salt on their wounds on Sunday.
Speaking after the match, Masters Security Football Club head coach Abasi Makawa was happy his team won on the day.
“Am happy we collected three points but still we have to work on coordination of the players and our finishing as we created a lot of chances that we should have scored more goals”, said Makawa.
On his part Isaac Jomo Osman who is Technical Director for Ntopwa Football Club said
“As Ntopwa we are happy with how the boys have played in all the two games which gives us a picture that we need to work hard if we want to survive the heat of the TNM Super League “, Osman said.
In another game on Sunday afternoon, Civil Sporting Club were 3-0 winners over Karonga United at CIVO Stadium.
The lose means the Karonga boys return to the northern region with three points from a possible six after they managed to defeat Mlatho Mponela on Saturday.
Speaking in an interview, Civil Sporting Club team manager Gabriel Chirwa said the team is in shape to compete this season.
“We are happy as we have managed to win our first two games but we should prepare well for our next fixtures as we are sending a message to other teams that we are in good form and likely they will come hard on us and with the form we are in Civil Sporting should be able to win a trophy this year “, said Chirwa.
Dan Dzimkambani, coach for Karonga United consided defeat on the day.
“We planned to win both games or win one game and draw the other but our boys looked tired having travelled a long distance to fulfil the fixture and that we played against Mlatho Mponela on Saturday as its not easy to play two consecutive games in two days but we should be able to bounce back and win games”, Dzimkambani said.
At Chitowe Stadium, Chifuniro Mpinganjira’s goal was enough for Dwangwa United Football Club to collect three points over Chitipa United while MZUNI Football Club and Kasungu based TN Stars shared the spoils at Mzuzu stadium.
