Blue Eagles football club captain and midfielder Micium Mhone has pleaded with the club to let him go and join Mozambique premier league side, Costa do Sol.
The versatile right winger claims his contract with the police headquarters side expired in December 2019 and can go to Mozambique as a free agent.
Mhone who returned to the Malawi national football team this year after the consistent performance for Blue Eagles in the 2019 season signed a three years contract with the team in 2017 after returning from a then South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Jomo Cosmos.
Commenting on the development, Eagles chairperson Alexander Ngwala has asked the player to first sign his contract with the team if he wants to leave.
“Yes his contract expired in December last year but if he wants to go to Mozambique with our blessing then he should first sign a contract with Blue Eagles,” said Ngwala.
Micium Mhone was Blue Eagles top goal scorer in the 2019 season as he netted 12 goals in the TNM super league last season and Costo do Sol is willing to offer the flames international a 2 years contract.
