Jurgen Klopp’s squad rotation for Liverpool’s 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Wolves was caused by players who “failed miserably”, according to former England captain Alan Shearer.
Ruben Neves scored the winning goal as Wolves knocked out Liverpool in the FA Cup third-round at Molineux.
Liverpool’s attacking forwards; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane started on the bench, the manager preferring Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi in the attack.
Klopp brought on Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah 20 minutes before the end, it was to late. Apart from a Xherdan Shaqiri free-kick that hit the post, Liverpool didn’t perform.
