Nyasa Big Bullet’s Football Club defending midfielder Chimango Kayira, has earned a late call up to the Malawi National football team camp ahead of the 2020 second leg qualifier match of the African National Championship (CHAN) against Eswatini to be played on Saturday at the Kamuzu Stadium.

Speaking at a press breefing on Friday morning at the Chiwembe in Blantyre, Flames interim Coach Meke Mwase said this has been done as the teams preparations has been hit by injuries.

“We had to sit down as the technical panel and we thought of bringing into camp Chimango Kayira who joined camp this morning as the two defending midfielders we called into camp , Alfred Manyozo and Chikoti Chirwa, are all injured,”

“We can not denie the fact that the injuries have affected our game plan in a way or two but that’s expected in the game of football and Kayira is not new to the national team that he knows best how it is like playing in national colors and we expect him together with the rest of the boys available for selection to fight for a win tomorrow “, Mwase said.

Chimango Kayira rejoins the Malawi National football team two years after he last played for the Flames as he failed to impress Belgium tactician Ronny Vanny Geneuden who was coach of the Flames in the past two years.

Mwase further said the morale in camp is high and the boys look set for the game and are aware that nothing but a win is needed on the day.

“The morale in camp is high and the boys know how important it is for us to win the game and we have been talking to them to fight for nothing but a win on the day.

“Scoring goals has been a major problem to the team but we with the shape of the team right now and how the boys have been drilled on how to take chances that have been created, we should be able to see goals this weekend “, Mwase said.
