The Malawi national football team is in group B of the 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

At a draw held on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt , the Flames have been paired against Uganda and Burkina Faso with the winner between Seychelles and South Sudan .

The Flames were seeded to start the campaign in the group stages with qualifying games to begin on 7 October this year.

The team last qualified for an AFCON finals after 25 years in 2010 when it was staged in Angola.
