Football Association of Malawi (FAM) said it is happy with how things are progressing at its football academy set at Mpira village in Blantyre.

FAM’s Technical Director John Kaputa said everything is going on so well this far at the academy.

” Everything is going on smoothly as this is our second month running the academy. We have a total of 40 players so far who are drilled every Saturday and are all responding well to training “

” The academy had Clement Kafwafwa, Shellie Msuku, Lawrence Mnenula, Abel Mkandawire and Sailesi Liwindo as coaches with Benjamin Kumwenda as Technical Development Officer for the academy”, said Kaputa.

Kaputa also disclosed that apart from football, the academy is also focusing on the education side for the boys.

” We have the education program fitted to the academy. Those players from primary school have teachers for Mathematics, English and other things while those from secondary school are given time to read their books “, Kaputa said.
