Nyasa Big Bullets defeated Mzuni football club 3-2 to claim top spot in the TNM super league.

Bullets unsettled the visitors with an early goal when Hassan Kajoke scored from the spot in the 6th minute.

The defending champions continued pressurizing the Mzuzu based side that in the 23rd minute Kajoke doubled their lead.14 minutes before the break, the visitors reduced the arrears when Steven Mandimba scored that at the break Bullets lead 2-1.

In the second half, Mzuni frustrated Bullets when Taniel Mhango equalised for the visitors.

With 8 minutes to end the game, Chimwemwe Idana scored the winner for Bullets to gain top spot to the delight of coach Calisto Pasuwa.

“Mzuni gave us a good game. We managed to score two goals but the guys relaxed that they equalised. But am happy that in the end the boys fought and scored the winning goal”, he said.

On the other hand, coach for Mzuni Gilbert Chirwa said it’s been a bad weekend.

“It was a tough game that the boys displayed the fighting spirit and it’s painful we lost in such a manner. It’s painful that we returning with no point from two games. We will fight in the remaining five game to still be in the league”, Chirwa said.

In another TNM super league match on Sunday, Blue Eagles registered a 2-0 win over Be Forward Wanderers.

The 2018 Airtel top 8 winners took the lead in the 34th minute through a Schumacher Kuwali strike before Foster Bitoni made it two in the 48th minute.

Nyasa Big Bullets lead the standings with 49 points from 23 games.Wanderers is now on second position with 48 points from same number of games.
