AFRICA – [MALAWI]

1945 –  Steve Bernard Miles Chimombo, was born on the 4th of September 1945 and died on the 11th of December 2015, was a Malawian writer, poet, editor and teacher. He was born in Zomba Blantyre. The only Malawian writer and poet that didn’t go into exile during the Kamuzu’s rule. There are rumors that Chimombo was feeding the government names of those who wrote against it. Some of his work includes:Napolo Poems, Manchichi Publishers, 1987, Python! Python! An Epic Poem, 1992, Napolo and the Python, 1994″

AFRICA – [DRC]

2006 – In CongoDRC a boat overloaded with passengers and freight sank in choppy waters on Lake Kivu, killing at least 35 people.

1996 – In the Congo authorities found 200 slaughtered elephants in a marsh of the National Park of Odzala.

1975 – Sinai II Agreement between Egypt and Israel pledges that conflicts between the two countries shall not be resolved by military force but by peaceful means.
